Laser Hair Removal

Don’t feel trapped by problem hair. Freedom from endless, expensive waxing, shaving and plucking is ahead. With laser hair removal, you escape from frustrating body hair and find freedom and confidence in your daily life. Georgia Center MedSpa offers treatment with two lasers that provide superior results and the height of patient comfort.

Georgia Center Laser Hair Removal with XEO®

This laser is appropriate for all skin types and provides ideal results to a broad spectrum of patients. This hair removal laser combines two laser pulse speeds with a comprehensive sapphire contact cooling system, to enhance patient comfort. The cooling occurs before, during, and after each pulse to transform the sensations patients are accustomed to feeling during laser hair removal.

CoolGlide® Laser Hair Removal

Our laser hair removal systems deliver the best possible patient experience. The CoolGlide Laser feels like a moderate sting for a fraction of a second. It has a built-in cooling tip that not only protects the skin but also minimizes discomfort. Most patients have no irritation after treatment and may resume their normal activities within a reasonable period. Since sensitivity to pain varies greatly, some areas may be uncomfortable, and some areas may not feel treatment at all. Numbing cream is available if you would like topical anesthetic; simply let us know what your preference is before your treatment.

How long do the treatments take?

We schedule anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes for appointments. However, the actual amount of time the laser is being used can vary from as little as three minutes for an upper lip to 45-60 minutes for full legs or a man’s back. Very often, follow up treatments are shorter (and less expensive) because there is much less hair to treat.

How many treatments are necessary?

The number of treatments required for optimal results varies depending on the area treated, hair density, growth cycle, treatment parameters used, and some other factors. Typically 6 to 9 treatments, 4 to 6 weeks apart, are required to achieve the desired results.

What results can I expect?

Treatment results may vary among patients. For some, treatment can lead to a significant decrease in the frequency with which you must shave. For others, laser hair removal can produce permanent cosmetic improvements, with hair re-growth being minimal, very fine or completely absent. Most patients will lose, on average, 20% to 30% of actively growing hair permanently with each treatment. Everyone will have some re-growth with time regardless of the technology used. Hair that grows back will tend to be much finer and less concentrated.

Will my skin scar or blister?

With any laser, this is a possibility. However, with hair removal lasers, this becomes much less likely. They are incredibly gentle on the skin and have fewer side effects than most lasers that remove hair.

If I have light hair (e.g. blonde, gray, red) will I see a reduction?

Unfortunately, patients with light colored hair see minimal to no results. The laser targets the melanin and these light hairs do not have enough melanin for the laser to see and destroy the follicle. Our hair removal lasers are appropriate for all skin types, so don’t hold back if you have darker skin. If you have dark hair, treatment will be effective.

What Sclerotherapy?

Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure done by your healthcare provider to treat uncomplicated spider veins and uncomplicated reticular veins. The treatment involves the injection of a solution into the affected veins.

What are varicose veins?

Varicose veins are large blue, dark purple veins. They protrude from the skin and many times they have a cord-like appearance and may twist or bulge. Varicose veins are found most frequently on the legs.

What are spider veins?

Spider veins are tiny and very fine red or blue veins. They are closer to the surface of the skin than varicose veins. They can look like a thin red line, tree branches or spider webs. Spider veins can be found on the legs and face and may cover a small or large area.

What are reticular veins?

Reticular veins can also be known as feeder veins. They are the blue and green veins beneath the surface of the skin.
Reticular veins enlarge because of increased pressure in the vein. They can be caused by heredity. You may have reticular veins alone, but you may also have spider veins at the same time.

What causes spider and reticular veins?

Spider and reticular veins are caused by many factors:

  • Heredity.
    • Having a family member with prominent veins may increase the risk of you developing them. Approximately half of the people who get varicose veins have a family history of them.
  • Age.
    • The normal wear and tear of aging may cause valves in the veins to weaken and not work as well.
  • Gender.
    • Women are two to three times more likely to develop varicose veins than men. Up to half of American women have varicose veins. Changes in hormones due to puberty, pregnancy, menopause, or taking birth control pills may increase a woman’s risk of developing varicose veins.
  • Pregnancy.
    • During pregnancy, the growth of the fetus increases the pressure on the veins in the legs. Varicose veins that occur during pregnancy usually improve within 3 to 12 months following delivery.
  • Overweight and obesity.
    • Having extra weight on the body can put additional pressure on the veins.
  • Prolonged standing or sitting.
    • This applies in particular with legs bent or crossed. When standing or sitting with legs bent or crossed, the veins have to work harder to pump the blood up to the heart.
  • Other possible causes for varicose veins are race, posture, occupation, hormones such as estrogen and progesterone, primary valvular incompetence, and incompetent perforating veins.

Microdermabrasion is a super effective skin resurfacing treatment that combines exfoliation with micro-crystals and gentle vacuuming to remove impurities, stimulate and restore circulation, and promote healthy new cellular regeneration. The fresh skin just below the surface is exposed, creating a glowing new complexion. Your skin will look and feel dramatically smoother, cleaner and tighter.

At the Georgia Center Med Spa, we calm, hydrate and nurture your skin after your microdermabrasion treatment. We complete all microderms with a specialized medical-grade mask, as well as skin-specific serums for the face, lips and eye area. Your treatment ends with medical grade sun protection, and then you may return to your normal activity with no down time. The results are crystal clear!

Microdermabrasion can be effective in reducing the appearance of:

  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne scars
  • Uneven skin tones/age spots
  • Enlarged pores

Results will be noticeable after the first treatment. However, four treatments over two months will have the most dramatic results. Maintenance visits are once every 2-3 months.

Ask about the other treatments that can be added onto your microderm for more aggressive results!

Dermaplane is an exemplary procedure that we offer at The Georgia Center Med Spa to remove the dead skin cells and “peach fuzz.” Whether you choose to be dermaplaned as a procedure by itself or as an add-on to be done prior to a chemical peel or after a microderm, this gentle scraping technique will enhance the way your skin looks and feels.

Ever feel rushed? We at The Georgia Center Med Spa know your life is busy, so reward yourself and relax and escape with a relaxing facial. This facial is not only beneficial for relieving stress but will improve the texture of your skin as well. Based on your skin needs, we will customize everything from start to finish, all in a relaxing “all-about-you” atmosphere.

What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel is a means of chemically exfoliating the skin by breaking down the intracellular ”glue” that holds together dead skin cells. This “shedding” of the dead skin, in turn, speeds up the cell turnover rate, bringing new skin to the surface at a faster rate. The Georgia Center Med Spa offers Image Skincare chemical peels. This medical grade skincare line offers three levels of peels, depending on your desired result. Level one peels are considered “lunchtime” peels with little to no downtime. Level two peels are more aggressive and help improve acne, wrinkles and age spots. Level twos require minimal downtime, depending on your skin. Want to achieve even more dramatic results? Then you can choose one of our level three peels, which require 1-3 days of downtime, depending on your skin.

How can I get the best results from a chemical peel or chemical peel series?
Glad you asked! Many people spend the time and money on a professional treatment and immediately resume an inadequate home care regimen using products that deliver no results. Home care and professional treatments work together so be prepared to do your part after your peel. We offer several lines of products, which we have researched and chosen for our clients to use at home. These will help you to reach your skin care goals faster and help you maintain skin you love longer. Expect to be encouraged to use daily sun protection. This is because the sun can reverse all of your efforts, even on a cloudy day. Our licensed staff will help you choose specific products perfect for your goals, whether it be wrinkle reduction, age spots, acne, or all of the above.

The Georgia Center Med Spa Peel Menu:

  • Image Signature Face Lift
    • This four layer facelift will leave your skin feeling rejuvenated. This level one peel is a smart step up for someone who gets facials and is looking for something more. This peel has high doses of the most sophisticated Vitamin C and enzymes, layered with masks high in glycolic acid and enzymes. You may feel tingling during the treatment, but you will be entirely comfortable. Cool water will be used to remove the peel and soothe your skin. Serums and aftercare will be applied, and we will give you instructions on home care. The Signature Facelift can be done monthly, is ideal for all skin types, and is safe for pregnant women as well. This peel is especially beneficial for clients with red undertones, rosacea, and dry, dehydrated skin. Dermaplane is a great add-on before this peel for added smoothness.
  • Image Wrinkle Lift
    • The Image Wrinkle Lift Peel is a 40% Glycolic/Retinol Resurfacing Solution that can be performed as a level one or two peel, depending on how aggressive a treatment is desired and how long your peel is left on. Our licensed professional staff will discuss which protocol will be best for you before your treatment. The Wrinkle Lift Peel reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with an ultra-resurfacing blend of glycolic and retinol. As the peel begins to work, you will feel some tingling, but it is tolerable. We will provide cooling measures while your peel is on to help reduce any discomfort. After the peel, a hydrating and brightening mask is applied, followed by customized Image serums and aftercare products. Home care and sun protection are vital after this peel, and we will instruct you on what to use to get the best results. If your skin begins peeling, it will often be on days 3, 4 or 5. The downtime is minimal, if any. This peel is best done in a progressive series of 4 visits over two months, with the peel staying on longer with each visit. Maintenance treatments are usually recommended for every 2-3 months. Dermaplane is a great add-on just before this peel for added smoothness and glow!
  • Image Acne Lift
    • The Image Acne Lift is a 20% Salicylic/Glycolic Resurfacing peel that can be a level one or two peel, depending on how aggressive and how long the peel is left on. This peel is ideal for clients who suffer from oily skin or frequent breakouts. This peel has a combination of Beta Hydroxy Acids and Alpha Hydroxy Acids, which reduce oiliness and unclog pores. You will feel tingling with this peel, but we provide cooling measures to ease any discomfort. After the peel is removed with a cool water rinse, we apply a repairing Vitamin C mask, as well as other stem cell enriched after care products, which enhance results. Gentle peeling may occur within 24 hours after this peel, depending on the protocol chosen and minutes left on. Important home care instructions will be given for best results. This peel is best done in a progressive series (each visit leaving the peel on longer) of 4 over two months. Maintenance is usually every 2-3 months. Dermaplaning can be an add-on with this peel, unless there is an active breakout.
  • Image Lightening Lift
    • This 50% Lactic/Kojic Resurfacing solution is perfect for our sun worshippers of the past! Depending on the protocol chosen and time left on, this can be a level one or two peel. This peel will cause shedding of damaged skin, repair sun damaged areas, and give your skin a more even tone. Clients with rosacea and red undertones can also benefit from this peel. You will feel tingling during this peel, but we provide cooling measures to ease any discomfort. After the peel is removed with a cool water rinse, we apply a customized mask and other lightening and brightening serums as part of the peel aftercare. This peel is best done in a progressive series of 6 treatments over three months, and good home care is vital to keeping your results. Maintenance is usually every 2-3 months. Dermaplaning is a great add-on just before this peel for added smoothness and exfoliation.
  • Image Perfection Lift
    • Want a Hollywood glow? Then this level three peel is for you! This Jessner’s formula contains high doses of retinol, peptides, plant stem cells, and Vitamin C. It tackles wrinkles, acne, and pigmentation with dramatic results. This peel is more aggressive than the level one and two peels, and you will feel this peel working. Of course, cooling measures will be applied. This peel is not rinsed off, rather it self- neutralizes and is implemented in three layers. Peeling can occur on days 3, 4, and 5. We will advise you on the vital aftercare and minimal sun exposure for the first five days after the peel. Let us do a dermal plane treatment on your skin before this peel and increase the results! A level one or two peel one week before this peel is a great “prep peel” to prepare your skin and remove some of the dead skin for better results. Level 3 peels are typically done twice a year. We will give you written after- care instructions, which will be vital to this peel’s success.
  • Image TCA Orange Peel
    • This is an RX physician-only 12% non-buffered TCA, Salicylic and Retinol Peel that aggressively treats deep wrinkles, sun damage, acne, and acne scarring. This is our most aggressive peel and will reveal a new you after one treatment! You will feel tingling with this three layer self-neutralizing peel, but we will provide cooling measures. The tingling will be worth it, when you see the results. This peel is not rinsed off and has specific aftercare instructions that we will provide you, as well as instructions on how to deal with any peeling skin on days 3-5. Avoiding prolonged sun exposure is suggested for the first five days. A dermaplane is an excellent pre-peel treatment for added benefits, as well as a level 1 or 2 peel one week before, to exfoliate and prepare the skin. Level 3 peels are usually done every six months along with the use of good home care products. The Georgia Center Med Spa staff can help you put together the perfect home care plan to help maintain and even continue to improve your skin after your peel.

Let’s face it, guys love to be pampered too, and facials aren’t just for women anymore! Microblading is a fantastic new semi-permanent makeup treatment designed to give you the best brows possible! It uses a small, handheld blade made up of microneedles to deliver the pigment beneath the skin in precise, hair-like strokes. This means that your results will be subtle and natural while still giving you perfectly shaped, thick and beautiful brows! Microblading is ideal for helping to reconstruct, define or fill in brows. It can also help darken light brow hair or give the appearance of brows to patients who have suffered hair loss due to alopecia, chemotherapy or other reasons. While many fear that microblading will hurt, most patients report only mild to moderate discomfort during their treatment. Many compare it to getting your brows threaded or waxed. If at any time you are starting to feel uncomfortable, we can apply more anesthetic to the area.

Microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy) involves using fine needles to create hundreds of tiny, invisible puncture wounds in the top layer of skin. Sound appealing? Not so much. But this minimally invasive treatment— whether it’s done in-office by a trained aesthetician, dermatologist, or plastic surgeon, or at home using a dermaroller (a small, handheld paint roller coated in tiny needles)—is virtually painless and incredibly effective. “The micro-injuries you create stimulates the body’s natural wound healing processes, resulting in cell turnover and increased collagen and elastin production, therefore reversing as well as preventing signs of aging,” says board certified dermatologist and RealSelf contributor Sejal Shah, MD. (It works the same way lasers do, only you’re injuring the skin mechanically instead of using heat or light.) Believe it or not, microneedling has become hugely popular among skincare fanatics—Vogue is calling it the next big thing in anti-aging.Tellus Euismod.
